BATS
To many people bats are seen as fearsome creatures that are known for their blood-sucking tendencies. In reality, bats are actually quite passive and shy, mostly feeding on insects, fruit and nectar. And while they might not be the cuddliest of creatures they are an amazing and integral part of the ecosystem in Florida.

BIRDS OF PREY
From great horned owls to hawks to falcons, birds of prey are powerful and elusive animals threatened by development and diminishing habitat. Wild Florida’s Hunter Reno gets up close with these beautiful creatures inside the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in Maitland, where dedicated staff care for a variety of sick and orphaned raptors. And she helps release a bald eagle back into the wild! In the Florida Keys, we join a team from HawkWatch International as they track American kestrels, ospreys and northern harriers migrating south for the winter.
